Dansk Træemballage, also known as DTE, develops and manufactures wooden packaging solutions to approximately 1,500 customers in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and selected export markets. More than 150,000 cubic meters of sawn wood and 350,000 cubic meters of raw wood is processed by the company at 11 production sites in Scandinavia on an annual basis. This makes Dansk Træemballage the leading market participant in Scandinavia – a position established through a combination of organic growth and a series of acquisitions.

CEO of Kirk Kapital, Kim Gulstad, is pleased with the investment in Dansk Træemballage.

The current shareholders retain ownership of the remaining 60 pct. of the shares in Dansk Træemballage after the transaction. They too are excited about the partnership.

Dansk Træemballage currently has revenue of approximately DKK 1bn and the shareholders wish to grow the company further.

“The strong market position of Dansk Træemballage in Denmark and its presence in Norway and Sweden is partly established through a series of acquisitions and mergers of smaller competitors. We will actively aim for further consolidation, especially in Sweden and Norway, if the right opportunities arise. We have now ensured the capital resources for this,” says Peter Jensen.

Kirk Kapital is a minority investor that actively seeks to support a further positive development in the companies that Kirk Kapital invests in. Kim Gulstad and Andreas Faerk, the CIO of Strategic Investments of Kirk Kapital, will enter the board of directors.

PwC Corporate Finance and Bech-Bruun have advised the shareholders of DTE, whilst Brun & Hjejle has advised Kirk Kapital in relation to the transaction.
